The Carleton Lab Welcomes Clara Wilson!

May 20, 2026

The Carleton Lab is excited to announce the arrival of our new Senior Fabrication Engineer, Clara Wilson!

Clara comes to the Carleton Lab from the Columbia Physics Design Lab, which she managed since 2021. Clara is an adept mechanical engineer and machinist who will now work on a much larger physical scale than ever before – one of her early projects will be fabricating a steel fixture capable of withstanding 600,000 pounds of tensile force!

Clara has substantial experience working with students and faculty members to design and fabricate custom research components and will be able to provide not only machining services, but outstanding instruction and training in the machine shop to CEEM students.

Clara is excited “to work collaboratively as a part of the accomplished Carleton team, and foster a welcoming and creative atmosphere inside the Carleton Machine Shop!”

Join us in welcoming Clara to the Carleton Lab and CEEM!
