The Carleton Laboratory actively supports the research mission of Columbia|Engineering by sharing with the School a broad portfolio of testing machinery, specialized in traditional material strength testing, structural health monitoring and corrosion processes, cementitious materials, geotechnical centrifuge testing, and fluid transport mechanics. The list in the menu bar provides an overview of shared equipment available to researchers in Columbia|Engineering. Contact and scheduling information is provided on the respective equipment page.
Carleton Laboratory also operates a fully outfitted machine shop for heavy metal (non-ferrous and ferrous) machining. The machine shop will accept work on both an interdepartmental as well as external customer basis.
