Equipment Reservation & Machine Shop Fabrication

Machine reservation, fabrication requests, and wet chemical procedure approvals may be submitted by Columbia University faculty, staff, and students with a legitimate research need.

If testing is requested to be performed by laboratory staff, it will be charged at the "Staffed Testing Rate" per the published academic rates. Training sessions will also be charged as "Staffed Testing Rate". Fabrication requests performed by the Carleton Lab Machine Shop personnel will also be charged as "Machine Shop Time" per the published academic rate.

The Wet Chemical Procedure Form must be filled out, emailed to, and approved by Lab Staff whenever a new wet chemical experiment is required or an existing procedure is modified; the form must be submitted at least one business day before planned work and work cannot proceed until approval is given. Please use the following naming convention for the files: "ResearcherName_AbbreviatedProcedureName_Date.pdf". The form must be printed and posted adjacent to the work space while the procedure is being performed.

These forms are for internal Columbia University use only.
